SRHS 2026–2027 Volunteer Opportunities
-
Apparel Sales at Football Games
Help the PTO sell Southridge apparel at home football games. Volunteers will help with setup, sales, and cleanup during the game. Ideally, volunteers would commit to at least two games.
Home game dates: 9/3, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, and 10/30.
Additional apparel sales opportunities will be available during winter basketball games.
-
Grad Night Planning Committee
Join the team that plans and fundraises for the senior Grad Night celebration. We have a dedicated group leading this effort, but they would love a few more volunteers to help.
We are especially looking for a parent of a non-senior who can get involved this year, learn the ropes, and eventually take over Grad Night planning in the future.
-
Skymart Student Store
Volunteer to help at Skymart, Southridge's student store, during lunch hours. Volunteers help students make purchases and keep the store running smoothly.
Volunteer shifts: Every school day, 11:45 AM–12:45 PM and 1:30–2:15 PM.
Sign up: Skymart Volunteer Shift Sign-Ups – August through December 2026
-
IB Test Proctor — May 2027
Help Southridge students during their IB exams by serving as a test proctor. A variety of shifts are available throughout the month, and the need for volunteers is typically high.
Time commitment: Approximately 2–3 hours per shift.
Volunteer opportunities will be announced through ParentSquare in late spring.
-
Mock Interviews — February 2027
Help Southridge upperclassmen prepare for college, jobs, internships, and other real-world opportunities by conducting practice interviews.
Volunteers will receive information and guidance to help make the experience useful and encouraging for students.
Volunteer requests for the interview days will be shared through ParentSquare in January/February 2027.
-
Staff Appreciation Team
Join a small team dedicated to recognizing and supporting Southridge teachers and staff throughout the school year. Our current focus includes coordinating meals, treats, and other staff appreciation efforts, including organizing donations from parents and local businesses.
This is also a great opportunity to bring new ideas for celebrating and supporting our staff. Volunteers can help with planning, coordinating donations, and event-day setup.
-
Scholarship Scoring — May 2027
Help the PTO review and score scholarship applications from graduating Southridge seniors.
More information about the opportunity and time commitment will be available in late spring.
-
Dance Chaperones
Help create a safe and welcoming environment at Southridge school dances by serving as a parent chaperone.
Upcoming opportunity: Homecoming — October 10, 2026.
Additional dance chaperone opportunities will be available throughout the school year.
-
Bilingual Liaison — Latino Parent Group
Help strengthen communication and connections between the PTO, Southridge families, and our Latino parent community. This role will help facilitate communication, encourage participation, and support opportunities for families to connect with the school and PTO.
-
School Community Engagement Chair & Team
Help create opportunities for Southridge students, families, and community members to connect outside of regular school hours. This team will brainstorm, plan, and coordinate PTO-sponsored events that build school spirit and strengthen our school community.
The Chair will help lead these efforts, with a team of volunteers available to help plan and carry out events.
-
Fundraising Team
Join our PTO Fundraising Coordinator in planning and coordinating fundraising efforts throughout the school year.
We are looking for a small team of volunteers who can help brainstorm ideas, organize campaigns and events, and support fundraising activities. This is a great way to get involved without committing to a single large event.
